Career Opportunity: Manager Corporate & Regulatory Affairs

Company Overview:

One of Pakistan's major power sector companies, responsible for the efficient transmission of electricity from generation sources to distribution companies across the nation, is looking to hire a highly skilled Manager Corporate & Regulatory Affairs. This role will focus on providing comprehensive legal support to the company, particularly in dealings with corporate, power sector regulators, tax authorities, and other relevant government bodies.


Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

As the Manager Corporate & Regulatory Affairs, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Legal Advice & Guidance:

Provide expert legal advice on matters involving regulatory bodies on behalf of the company.

Guide and assist internal departments in their interactions with regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Regulatory & Corporate Law Expertise:

Possess a deep understanding of corporate laws, specifically those related to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and other relevant legislation within the energy sector.

External Counsel Coordination:

Manage and oversee the external legal counsel on corporate and regulatory issues, ensuring quality and alignment with the company’s objectives.

Quality Control & Strategic Alignment:

Oversee the quality of all services and deliverables within the Corporate & Regulatory Affairs section, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and comply with established policies and procedures.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead and manage subordinate staff, ensuring effective delegation of tasks and conducting periodic performance appraisals.

Support the professional development of team members.

Performance Monitoring:

Monitor and maintain the performance necessary to meet KPIs assigned by the Chief Law Officer.

Technology Needs Communication:

Identify and communicate technology needs of the Corporate & Regulatory Affairs section to the Chief Law Officer and relevant departments.

Documentation & Standardization:

Assist in developing standard documentation, forms, and templates to streamline operations.

Additional Support:

Assist the Chief Law Officer in fulfilling various legal responsibilities and perform any other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications & Specifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).

Experience:

Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years of law practice and 3 years in corporate and regulatory affairs within the power sector.

Other Requirements:

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
