SITUATION VACANT

Applications are invited for the position of Legal Consultant on a contractual basis with the following details:

Job Details

  • Name of Post: Legal Consultant
  • Fixed Pay: Rs. 125,000 - Rs. 150,000 (Negotiable)
  • No. of Posts: 02
  • Age Limit: Up to 45 years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • LL.B or LL.M with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
    • Experience in handling legal matters related to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and High Courts.
    • Expertise in dealing with cases pertaining to various courts, tribunals, and legal forums.
    • Providing legal opinions on constitutional and legal matters and any other duties assigned by the Commission.
  • Place of Posting: Islamabad
  • Domicile: Open to all districts where the position exists.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must not have been dismissed from any government service due to disciplinary actions or unsatisfactory performance.
  • Candidates should provide an affidavit declaring non-engagement in any other business or job that could result in a conflict of interest.
  • Individuals convicted by a court for offenses involving moral turpitude are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants currently employed in a government department or semi-government organization must retire or resign before joining, subject to acceptance of their resignation by the designated authority.
  • During the term of employment, the Legal Consultant should not engage in any other service, business, or personal/private employment.

Terms of Contract

  • The contract for the Legal Consultant position may be terminated upon the completion of tenure or by giving one month's notice.
  • The performance of the Legal Consultant will be monitored by the Honorable Chief Election Commissioner.
  • Rules and policies applicable to civil servants at the corresponding level of classification will also apply.

Age Relaxation

  • Upper age limit relaxation (except the 5 years general age relaxation already included in the age limit) will be given as per the "Initial Appointment to Civil Posts (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1973".

  • Application Submission: Applicants may apply through the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)'s Online Recruitment System by visiting www.ecp.gov.pk within 20 days of the advertisement's publication in the newspapers.
  • Candidates applying through the online system must also submit a hard copy of their application on the prescribed format along with their CV, attested copies of relevant educational documents, experience certificates, CNIC, and a recent passport-size photograph.
  • Hard copy applications should be sent through PO Box No. 1418, GPO, Islamabad within 30 days of the advertisement's publication. Clearly mention the name of the position applied for on the envelope.
  • Applications received after the cut-off date will not be entertained.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in tests/interviews.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews.
