Power Planning & Monitoring Company (PPMC) is mandated to provide policy and technical support to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), integrated planning of the Power Sector of Pakistan, development and implementation of strategic plans for the power sector, and administration, monitoring, and evaluation of the performance of Power Sector Entities under the approved policies/plans.
The Company is seeking applications for the following positions from eligible candidates who can effectively perform the tasks assigned. The first three (03) months shall be on probation, after which employment shall continue as per company policy.
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, outstanding problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to exercise sound judgment based on accurate and timely analysis. Excellent communication, minute writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills are prerequisites. The ideal candidate should have the ability to prioritize work under pressure and be IT-savvy. Integrity and maturity are essential attributes when handling confidential company information.
Supervise and manage all technical aspects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements for electric distribution companies.
Oversee quality assurance for power distribution equipment to ensure consistency and reliability.
Design and maintain technical specifications and standards for materials and processes used in the power system.
Improve standards and specifications based on technological advancements and industry best practices.
Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies for materials used in electric distribution systems.
Conduct rigorous technical assessments of suppliers, their quality assurance processes, and compliance with standards.
Develop and implement quality assurance programs for the power distribution network.
Perform audits and inspections to verify adherence to standards and specifications.
Lead research initiatives to improve the efficiency and sustainability of electrical distribution systems.
Explore innovative technologies and assess their potential for implementation.
Analyze innovative ideas and strategies to evaluate their feasibility for power distribution systems.
Write detailed working papers on technologies and assess the potential impact of policies.
Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support policy and technology adoption.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders.
Document findings and recommendations from research, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
Provide training and guidance on technical standards and quality assurance practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (16 years) from an HEC-recognized/affiliated institute/university with a valid PEC license.
A Master’s in Business Administration/Master’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering will be an advantage.
Minimum of 05 years of relevant experience in a reputable national/multinational organization.
Pakistan Power Sector experience and relevant certifications will be preferred.
Experience in standards design and evaluation of equipment quality used in the distribution system.
In-depth knowledge of international and national standards (IEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE, ISO, Distribution Design Standards (DDS), and Product Description (PD) of electrical equipment).
Strong technical report writing and analytical skills.
Understanding of power sector challenges and their solutions.
Awareness of industries working for the power sector.
Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
