SITUATION VACANT
The Frequency Allocation Board (FAB), headquartered in Islamabad, invites applications from Pakistani citizens for appointment to the following vacant positions on a contract basis for two (02) years, extendable as per requirements. Applicants must meet the required educational qualifications, experience, and age limits as detailed below:
1. Assistant Director (Software) (EG-2)
- Number of Posts: 01
- Merit: Open Merit
Educational Qualification:
- Four years Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field from an HEC-recognized (local or foreign) university.
- Minimum CGPA: 3.5 (or 75% Marks in an annual system).
Required Experience:
- Minimum 05 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field from an HEC-recognized university.
- Valid registration from PEC or NCEAC.
- Practical experience in:
- MERN stack and PHP frameworks (Laravel).
- Microservice architecture, API integration (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
- Managing large-scale projects with modern technologies.
- DBMS (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), database security, and schema design.
- Managing SSIS/SSRS for ETL processes.
- DevOps tools and automation systems for production.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and systems.
- Version control and release management using GitLab.
- Containerization technologies like Docker and LXC.
- Linux Administration (Redhat, CentOS, Oracle Linux).
- System administration, virtualization, and server troubleshooting.

2. Assistant Director (Cyber Security) (EG-2)
- Number of Posts: 01
- Merit: Open Merit
Educational Qualification:
- Four years Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or a relevant field from an HEC-recognized (local or foreign) university.
- Minimum CGPA: 3.5 (or 75% Marks in an annual system).
Required Experience:
- Minimum 05 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 02 years in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) in government, telecom, or banking sectors.
- At least one cybersecurity certification required, such as CGRC, CISA, ECSA, or an equivalent certification.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- A Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, or a relevant field from an HEC-recognized university.
- Valid PEC or NCEAC registration (registration card required).
- Hands-on experience in:
- Conducting Cyber Security Audits (VAPT of applications, systems, and network infrastructure).
- Implementing security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
- Risk assessment (identification, analysis, and mitigation).
- Developing security policies & SOPs for compliance.
- Incident response management, SIEM & SOAR operations, and threat intelligence.
- Deployment of EPP and EDR solutions on enterprise systems.
