Medical Teaching Institution Abbottabad - Finance Director Position Announcement

Institution Overview:

Medical Teaching Institution Abbottabad (ATH/ACD/AMC) is a 1500-bedded tertiary care hospital operating under the MTI Act 2015 and its amendments. The institution is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following position:


Position: Finance Director

  • Number of Positions: 01

Qualification & Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant with 5 years’ post-qualification experience in finance/accounts within a major private or public company/institution, OR
  • ICMAP certification or a Master’s degree in finance/accounts with 8 years’ post-qualification experience in finance/accounts within a major private or public company/institution.

Skills Required:

  • Proven financial management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with KPPRA rules and regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision of Financial Accounting: Oversee all financial matters of the institution, ensuring compliance with the institution's financial policies.
  2. Preparation of Financial Regulations: Develop detailed regulations and procedures for the financial management of the institution for approval by the Management Committee and Board of Governors (BOG).
  3. Advisory Role: Provide financial guidance to the Hospital and Medical Directors and the Dean, ensuring transparency and fiscal probity.
  4. Account Maintenance: Ensure all accounts are managed in accordance with approved rules and regulations.
  5. Budget Development: Assist the Dean and Directors in the preparation of Medical College/School and Hospital budgets, ensuring financial projections and accounts are accurate.
  6. Annual Financial Reporting: Prepare an annual financial report for approval by the Directors and Dean, and present it to the Board of Governors.
  7. Audit Facilitation: Ensure facilitation of internal and external audits, implementing audit recommendations.
  8. Dispute Resolution: Address any financial discrepancies between Hospital Director, Dean, Medical Director, and Finance Director, with the final decision made by the Board of Governors.

Reporting: The Finance Director reports directly to the Board of Governors of MTI-ATH.

General Information:

  1. The position will follow all MTI Act, rules, and regulations as amended.
  2. All educational documents and experience certificates will be verified. Candidates with unverified documents will be disqualified.
  3. The candidate must be in good standing with their previous employer.
  4. The position is contract-based for 3 years, extendable for two additional 3-year terms at the discretion of the Board.
