APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR GENERAL MARKET IMPLEMENTATION & REGULATORY AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT (MIRAD) GEPCO, GUJRANWALA
Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO), a leading public electric utility company, endeavoring to provide uninterrupted electric supply to more than 4.2 million valued consumers with more than 18000 employees. The company intends to hire a highly dynamic personality for the post of DG (MIRAD). This position will provide leadership and direction to company for implementation of respective actions for the development of competitive electricity market in Pakistan and its operations afterwards. The MIRAD functions include bilateral power purchase contract agreement, legal and regulatory affairs, billing and settlement with market operator, demand forecasting and transmission planning. The department will be interface of GEPCO with competitive trading bilateral contract market (CTBCM).
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of GEPCO's actions with reference to CTBCM implementation Roadmap.
Ensure compliance of the regulatory pursuant to the power market.
Preparing, facilitate Finance/Tariff department in filling and follow up of tariff petitions and all related documentation in a timely manner to ensure commercial viability of GEPCO and to ensure that the market related aspects are captured in the revenue requirements.
• Facilitate the Finance Department in calculation and management of credit cover/guarantees. Participate in all regulatory hearings, workshops and meetings with Govemment, NEPRA, CPPA, other licensees
and power sector entities with regards to the implementation and operations of the competitive electricity
market to represent views of GEPCO on such platforms.
Oversee the transmission planning and forecasting activities within GEPCO.
Lead the contract negotiations with generators and administration of bilateral contracts
Qualification
Bachelors or equivalent degree in Engineering/Finance/Accounting/Law/Management Sciences from reputable HEC recognized universities. Master's degree will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 15-years of total experience including 10-years of experience in power sector. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of technical, commercial and financial matters of the utility business/Power sectors along with regulatory affairs and legal/contractual issues. Knowledge of competitive electricity markets will be an added
advantage.
Age Limit
Up to 60-years at the time of application.
Nature of Employment
The employment shall be on contract for an initial period of three (03) years, extendable on satisfactory performance.
Pay & Allowances
Market based competitive Lumpsum Pay package.
