basis detailed as under:
DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR (SYSTEM OPERATION)
Functions, Responsibilities & Skills
The Deputy Managing Director (System Operation) will be responsible for system operation transformation within NTDC leading towards establishment of Independent System Operator (ISO) as per System Operator License.
The incumbent will be expected to lead the System Operation Team for the establishment and operationalization of Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM).
The incumbent will also be responsible for implementation of tasks outlined in the NEPRA approved market design of the CTBCM and lead the team for Central Despatch System of Pakistan Power Sector on economic merit order basis.
The position is based in Islamabad, Pakistan, and will directly report to Managing Director NTDC during the transition phase and to BOD NTDC after establishment of ISO.
The incumbent will work closely with the Board of Directors of NTDC to ensure the implementation and monitoring of assigned objectives.
Qualification, Experience & Age
A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and registration with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), would be a minimum requirement. Degree in business management from HEC recognized/ accredited Universities would be desirable plus.
The candidate must possess overall professional experience of twenty years in corporate entities with at least 5-years working experience, on a senior position, in the regulated energy sector in electrical power system operation and/or energy markets.
The candidate should preferably have experience of commodity/energy trading and knowledge and understanding of competitive energy market regimes. Experience of working in an electric utility related to market operation and trading will be preferable.
For private sector candidates an overall experience of 20 years should include minimum 5-years on
senior management position as Department Head/C-Suite level in the regulated electrical power system operation and dispatch utility/market.
For public sector candidates overall experience of 20 years should include minimum 3-years at grade 20 or above positions.
The candidate should not be more than 62 years of age on the closing date of this advertisement.
Remuneration & Tenure
Market compatible package (negotiable as per qualification and experience) shall be offered to the selected candidate.
The successful candidate will be offered three years contract extendable with mutual consent.
