Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is a state-owned enterprise responsible for the exploration, mining, and marketing of various minerals. It operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, Government of Pakistan. PMDC invites applications for the following post on an open contract basis with a market-competitive package:

Position:

Deputy General Manager (Procurement)

Purpose:

To design, develop, and implement procurement strategies and operations to maximize process efficiency and productivity within the parameters of the applicable legal/regulatory framework.

Qualification:

  • MBA OR Master’s in Supply Chain Management/Logistics (minimum 16 years of education).

Experience:

  • 10 years post-qualification procurement experience, including 3-5 years as Procurement Manager, particularly in B2B, with knowledge of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules and related regulations.

Age:

  • Up to 45 Years

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of PMDC’s procurement strategy and design processes and procedures to support business goals.

  2. Lead development and management of the procurement budget in line with business goals.

  3. Ability to source new vendors, negotiate contracts, and sustain networking relationships.

  4. Develop and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, and systems optimized for strict compliance with PPRA rules and applicable regulations.

  5. Set policy guidelines for a cost-effective procurement process and ensure procurement accordingly.

  6. Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.

  7. Reduce reliance on single bidders/suppliers.
