GOVERNMENT OF THE PUNJAB AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT

SITUATION VACANT

Applications are invited from eligible candidates (Male & Female) domiciled in Punjab for recruitment on a contract basis under the development project titled "Mitigating the Emerging Issues of Pesticide Residues in Vegetables and Rice through Capacity Building of Farmers and Extension Agents (2022-23 to 2025-26)."

Positions Available

1. Deputy Director Agriculture (Plant Protection) (BPS-16-185/- SP)

  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Qualification: M.Sc. (Hons.) (2nd Div.) in Agricultural Entomology or Plant Pathology from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides.
  • Age Limit: 45 years.

2. Assistant Director Agriculture (Plant Protection) (BPS-16)

  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Qualification: M.Sc. (Hons.) (2nd Div.) in Agricultural Entomology or Plant Pathology from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides.
  • Age Limit: 40 years.

Important Notes:

  1. Age Relaxation: Not applicable.
  2. Degree Equivalence: Candidates with relevant degrees/certificates must provide an equivalence certificate issued by HEC/concerned board.
  3. Nature of Appointment: The contract appointments are temporary, non-transferable, job-specific, non-pensionable, and confer no right of regularization. Initially, the contract will be for one year.
  4. Retirement Clause: Retired persons are not eligible to apply.
  5. Merit-Based Recruitment: All recruitments will be made strictly on merit across Punjab, following the Recruitment Policy and Contract Appointment Policy, 2004.
  6. Application Procedure:
    • Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form, downloadable from www.agripunjab.gov.pk, addressed to the Secretary Agriculture, Government of Punjab, 21-Davis Road, Lahore.
    • The application should include a CV, three passport-size photographs, and attested copies of all relevant documents (CNIC, certificates, degrees, detailed marks certificates, CGPA, Hafiz-e-Quran certificate, position in board/university, and release orders for Ex-Servicemen, etc.).
    • Applications must reach by 10.10.2024. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
  7. Online Application: Candidates can also apply through www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk. However, submitting a hard copy of the application form with attested documents is mandatory.
  8. Interview Details:
    • A list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board three days before the interview.
    • Candidates with queries may approach the Additional Secretary (Planning), Agriculture Department, Punjab, Lahore at least two days before the interview.
  9. Results and Appointments: A list of successful candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board and appointment letters will be issued after the Departmental Selection/Recruitment Committee’s approval.
  10. Vacancies: The competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts.
  11. Pay Protection: Selected candidates are not entitled to any pay protection.
  12. Quota: No posts are reserved for women, minorities, or disabled persons.
