SITUATION VACANT - URAAN PAKISTAN

The Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM) Islamabad invites applications from Pakistani Nationals for the position of Individual Consultants for the PSDP project titled "Establishment of Research & Development (R&D) Center at Department of Archaeology & Museums (DOAM) to promote Soft Image of Pakistan through Cultural Heritage".

Available Positions:

  1. Individual Consultant (Training & Field Archaeology)
    No. of Posts: 1
    Qualification: Ph.D. in Archaeology, Museology, Conservation, or a related field from a recognized HEC university.
    Experience:

    • Minimum 15 years in the field of museology and archaeological explorations/excavations.
    • Experience in organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences in the relevant field.
    • Minimum of 05 research articles published in national/international journals.
  2. Individual Consultant (World Heritage Sites)
    No. of Posts: 1
    Qualification:

    • Ph.D. in Archaeology, Museology, Conservation, or related field from an HEC-recognized university.
      Experience:
    • Minimum 15 years of experience in working with UNESCO on world heritage sites, including capacity building and preparation of nomination dossiers for inscription on the World Heritage List.
    • Experience in preparing coffee table books and brochures.
    • Minimum of 05 research articles published in national/international journals.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Age Limit: 65 years.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Arrange trainings for capacity building on excavations, artifact preservation, and museum curation.
    • Develop and prepare training curricula for museum education services.
    • Organize workshops and webinars on museum education and cultural heritage.
    • Conduct guided tours and cultural caravans to engage the public and students.
    • Prepare brochures, pamphlets, and other publications to promote cultural heritage sites.
    • Support provincial departments in preparing nomination dossiers for UNESCO World Heritage inscription.
    • Research and prepare coffee table books and other relevant publications related to cultural heritage.

Important Notes:

  1. Hiring will be based strictly on merit.

  3. The consultancy fee will be paid as per the approved rate in the project document.
  4. Initial consultancy period: One year, extendable based on performance.
  5. Applications must be submitted within 15 days from the date of advertisement.

  8. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
