Position Announcement

CONSULTANT (LEGAL) REQUIRED

The Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP), operating as a body corporate under the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) and established through the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan Act, 2006, invites applications from highly qualified and experienced legal professionals for the post of Consultant (Legal).

Position Details

Job Type: Contractual (Lump-sum/fixed monthly retainership – negotiable)
Duration: One (1) year, extendable based on satisfactory performance
Role:
- Represent HDIP in courts from Civil Courts to the Supreme Court of Pakistan
- Provide legal opinions on referred matters
- Vetting of legal documents
- Any other legal tasks assigned by the competent authority

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:
- LL.B / LL.M in Corporate Law from an HEC recognized university (local or foreign)
Experience:
- Minimum 25 years as a practicing Advocate
- Minimum 15 years as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan
Expertise Required:
- Strong knowledge in:
  - Corporate affairs
  - Service matters
  - Civil and taxation laws
  - Regulatory frameworks in the Petroleum / Oil & Gas sector
Preferred Experience:
- Experience as Legal Advisor or Consultant Legal in:
  - Government
  - Semi-government
  - Autonomous bodies
  - Regulatory authorities
Maximum Age Limit:
- 68 years (as of the closing date)
