1. Assistant Managing Editor

Location: College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Karachi

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the content of all publications in the College Journal.
  • Plan each issue in terms of submission, schedule, and deadlines.
  • Ensure the journal meets CPSP standards by reviewing submissions for quality.
  • Examine article content and writing styles to maintain professional standards.
  • Assess and select topics/articles for upcoming journal issues.
  • Verify facts, clarify information, and write editorial content.
  • Write features and articles for publication in the journal.
  • Stay updated with trends and developments in journal publications.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Graduate or Master's in English/Journalism/Mass Communication.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience working with scientific journals in a similar capacity.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and administrative abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

2. Language Editor

Responsibilities:

  • Review and refine written content for grammar, clarity, and consistency.
  • Proofread content while ensuring adherence to editorial guidelines.
  • Collaborate with writers to enhance the quality of the content.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in editing or proofreading.
  • Strong command of English and keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with editorial style guides and content management tools.

3. Statistician

Responsibilities:

  • Review the statistical analysis plan for synopses and research articles.
  • Suggest corrections based on objectives and study design.
  • Assist trainees with statistical concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Statistics or Master of Science in Biostatistics & Epidemiology (MSBE).
  • Expertise in medical research and proficiency in SPSS, Minitab, or SAS software.
