Recruitment of Civilian Medical Officer on Contract Basis

Applications are invited for the following position on a contractual basis. The initial contract will be for two years, which may be renewed subject to the availability of the position.

Educational Qualification and Training:

MBBS (Preference will be given to candidates with FCPS)

Experience:

One-year house job, preferably in Medicine and two months in Surgery
Additional experience as a Medical Officer or Specialist in any hospital is desirable

Nationality:

Pakistani citizens or residents of Azad Jammu & Kashmir

Age Limit:

Civilians: 25 to 35 years
Retired Army Officers: Up to 35 years
Age relaxation of up to 5 years may be granted as per government rules

Conditions of Employment:

Applicants who have been dismissed or discharged from government service on disciplinary grounds, or convicted of moral turpitude by a court of law, are not eligible to apply.
Civilian doctors may be posted anywhere in the operational areas of the Pakistan Coast Guards within Balochistan or Sindh.
Pension and gratuity will not be applicable.
Private practice is not allowed during the period of contract.
Post-graduate training or study leave will not be granted during the contract.
Allowances and other benefits will be provided according to BPS-17 regulations.
The Government Servants Act 1923 will be applicable.

Selection Procedure:

After the scrutiny of applications, eligible candidates will be informed for a written test.
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews.
After appointment, termination of the contract from either side will require one month’s notice or one month’s basic pay in lieu of notice.
No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the test or interview.
Recruitment will be done as per Pakistan Coast Guards' employment rules, which can be obtained from their headquarters prior to submitting the application.
