Appointment of Civil Judges & Judicial Magistrates

Applications are invited on the Prescribed Form from candidates (both male & female) who are citizens of Pakistan, having Domicile and Permanent Residence of the Province of Sindh, for appointment on a regular basis against Fifty-Eight (58) vacant posts of "Civil Judge & Judicial Magistrate" (BPS-18) with a gross salary of Rs. 210,029/- (Rupees Two Lac Ten Thousand and Twenty-Nine Only) per month, along with privileges such as:

  • Full medical cover for self and family as per rules.

  • Official car and accommodation (subject to availability) after deduction of house rent from the gross salary.


ELIGIBILITY/QUALIFICATION:

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Educational Qualification:

    • Must possess a Law Degree from a recognized university entitling him/her to practice the profession of Law.

    • Minimum two years of active practice, OR

    • Is a Barrister of England or Ireland, OR

    • Is a Member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.

  2. Professional Experience:

    • Must be actively practicing law or be a member of the staff of the Supreme Court, High Court of Sindh, or subordinate courts of the High Court of Sindh.

    • The expression "practicing the profession of law" includes any period of service in the State as: a) Legal Assistant or Section Officer in the Law Department of the Government of Sindh. b) Assistant Attorney. c) Assistant Solicitor. d) Full-time Prosecutor, authorized to conduct prosecution on behalf of the State in a court. e) Civil servants (excluding the above categories) who have served in connection with the affairs of the province or Federation for a period of not less than three years.


AGE LIMIT:

  • Minimum Age: 21 years

  • Maximum Age: 32 years (as of the last date for submission of applications).

However, the following age relaxations apply:

  1. Civil Servants with at least three years of service in the Federation or Sindh Province: Maximum age 35 years.

  2. Advocates, Barristers, or Pleaders: The period during which they practiced at the Bar (up to maximum three years) shall be excluded from their age for upper age limit purposes.

  3. Government Employees whose services were terminated due to lack of vacancy: The period of previous service will be excluded from their age for upper age limit purposes.


SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the preliminary test (MCQs) to qualify for the 2nd written test.

  • Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the 2nd written test to qualify for the interview.


ENCLOSURES (REQUIRED DOCUMENTS):

The application form must be accompanied by attested copies of the following:

  1. Date of Birth Certificate

  2. Educational Qualification Certificates

  3. Date of Enrolment as Advocate/Pleader (renewed up to date)

  4. Domicile Certificate

  5. Permanent Residence Certificate

  6. CNIC Copy

  7. Character Certificate from the Principal Academic Officer of the last attended institution

  8. Two Character Certificates from respectable persons (not relatives)

  9. Four latest passport-size photographs

  10. Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 4,000/- (Non-refundable) in favor of the Registrar, High Court of Sindh, Karachi.


IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. Online Submission:

    • All candidates must apply through the online portal available at www.sindhhighcourt.gov.pk.

    • After online submission, candidates must print the auto-generated application form, sign it, and submit it along with required documents to the office of Additional MIT-I.

  2. Failure to Apply Online:

    • Candidates who fail to submit online applications will not be considered.

  3. Original Documents:

    • Candidates must present original documents at the time of the interview.

  4. Incomplete Applications:

    • Incomplete or ineligible applications will not be considered.

  5. Government Employees:

    • Candidates working in the public sector/government departments must apply through proper channel with a Departmental NOC and copy of appointment notification/order.

  6. Application Deadline:

    • Last date for online submission: 21st April 2025.

    • Applications received after the deadline will be rejected (any postal/transit delay will not be considered).

  7. Other Terms & Conditions:

    • No TA/DA will be provided.

    • No age relaxation beyond the stated limits will be entertained.

    • Disabled quota will be followed as per law.
