State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). the Central Bank, is looking for talented and energetic candidates for the position of Chief Technology Officer, based at Karachi.
Chief Technology Officer (OG-8)
Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to. the following:
- Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future IT resources and systems across the organization.
- Take the IT Group from a support role to a partnership with business areas to understand business needs and set and augment long-term strategic plans in line with international best practice.
- Understand the implications of evolving business requirements, to explain complex IT and digital concepts clearly and effectively. and to formulate and communicate the business value of IT investments, expenditures. and related resources.
- Build and attract high performing teams by creating a challenging environment, conducive to creativity and performance with stakeholder centricity in mind. Motivate and develop employees. assign authority and accountabilities, integrate efforts across departments, monitor results, and address issues in an effective and appropriate manner.
- Work effectively with all levels of management and key stakeholders across the institution, including the Board of Directors and IT-related committees to develop and implement enterprise architectures and digital strategies that tie information technology to the objectives and goals.
- Drive future technology agenda for the Bank in alignment with Digital Financial Services as a high priority.
- Ensure processes, guidelines, and procedures are in place and enforced for quality execution, operations and support of the Bank's infrastructure. Review and fine-tune the existing processes, guidelines and procedures in line with best market practices.
- Ensure adequate change management process is in place to govern technology change management in the Bank.
- Ensure that IT projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Review compliance of the security recommendations in the Bank in consultation with the Chief Information Security Officer.
- Review Quality Assurance policies to ensure integrity and quality in IT systems development, security and system support practices. Oversee development and implementation of disaster recovery, business continuity and IT security plans in consultation with senior management/stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance by the IT departments with internal rules, policies, regulations as well as the external regulatory framework. Manage risks
in the overall IT management domain and ensure compliance with applicable corporate risk management frameworks, audits and reviews.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Education : Master's or Bachelor's degree with 16 years of education in Information Technology / Information Systems / Computer Science or related discipline from HEC recognized institutions or from a reputable foreign university.
Age: Maximum 50 years (as per CNIC). Relaxation may be allowed in case of additional relevant experience.
Experience: At least 20 years' relevant experience with at least 10 years in senior management and 4 years in middle
management positions.
COMPENSATION: Competitive compensation package as per State Bank Rules.
