Company Overview:

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) is a state-owned enterprise that operates a power distribution network, supplying electricity to over 5.62 million consumers across Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Nankana.

Job Description:

LESCO is inviting applications for the position of Chief Internal Auditor, who will be part of the senior management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing internal audit functions, ensuring the integrity of the financial records, and promoting sound operational practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit Oversight: Lead and manage the internal audit function, ensuring unrestricted access to financial records and reporting to the Audit Committee.
  • Evaluation and Reporting: Assess financial, operational, and credit activities, and formulate internal audit programs to ensure all financial transactions are audited.
  • Team Management: Develop and lead a team of competent auditors to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Investigations: Undertake special investigations as directed by the Audit Committee/Board of Directors.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with external auditors and ensure the integrity of financial practices.
  • Recommendations: Identify audit findings and propose cost-effective, practical recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional Qualifications: Must be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in auditing and internal control procedures, especially in public/private sectors or state-owned enterprises.
  • Skills: Proficient in ERP environments, risk management, and governance controls. Strong business acumen and the ability to interact at the senior management and board level.
  • Fit & Proper Criteria: Compliance with the requirements of the State-Owned Enterprise Act, 2023.

Remuneration & Contract:

  • Salary: Competitive, market-based salary package, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Contract Duration: Initial three (3) years, extendable based on performance.
  • Age Limit: Applicants must be under 57 years of age as of the closing date.
