We are partnering with a reputed client, a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector, to find a highly professional and enthusiastic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their financial operations. This is a senior leadership position with a direct impact on the organization’s strategic growth and financial health.
The CFO will be responsible for developing and executing strategies in financial planning, reporting, accounting, treasury, and taxation. This leadership role will ensure financial process efficiency, robust internal controls, and provide critical business insights to drive growth and operational success.
Strategic Planning & Corporate Strategy:
Contribute to corporate strategy by proposing long-term financial plans, forecasts, and management strategies for Board approval.
Develop measures to ensure liquidity, cash flow, and funding requirements are met through optimized funding mixes (banks, capital markets, etc.).
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Ensure company accounts are compiled and delivered in line with International Accounting/Financial Reporting Standards and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Communication:
Articulate the company’s corporate financial strategy to analysts, credit agencies, investors, and customers.
Budgeting & Financial Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process across the company and provide insights on potential risks and opportunities in budget projections. Suggest corrective actions when necessary.
Investment & Financial Decision Making:
Advise the senior executive team on investment, expenditure decisions, and financial performance to ensure sound financial judgment in decision-making.
Team Development & Leadership:
Identify and develop future finance leaders, fostering a culture of performance management within the finance organization.
Treasury & Capital Management:
Optimize capital structure to improve treasury operations and reduce capital costs while ensuring access to advantageous funding sources.
Project Financing & Due Diligence:
Lead efforts to secure financial closure for ongoing projects by engaging with local and foreign debt/equity investors. Conduct due diligence on potential investments to support strategic decision-making.
Performance Monitoring:
Establish a KPI-based performance monitoring system to track financial performance and the achievement of strategic goals.
Educational Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant from a recognized professional body or an MBA in Finance.
Experience:
A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in leading public listed companies, with at least 5 years in finance leadership roles, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting frameworks, regulations, and best finance practices.
Extensive experience in evaluating large-scale projects and securing financing from local and international sources.
Experience managing acquisitions, mergers, governance, and strategic financial management.
Leadership Skills:
Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and change management skills.
