Opportunity to Serve as Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), Pakistan's premier integrated natural gas utility, primarily owned by the Government of Pakistan, is actively engaged in the transmission and distribution of natural gas throughout Sindh and Balochistan. With an extensive infrastructure that includes over 4,100 km of high-pressure transmission pipelines and a 48,000+ km distribution network, SSGC caters to more than 3.2 million customers across 160+ cities and 3,800 villages.

The Company procures gas from over 24 local and international exploration and production (E&P) companies and also operates South East Asia’s only gas meter manufacturing plant (MMP). This facility manufactures G-1.6 and G-4 meters for domestic use and international markets. Furthermore, SSGC supports its customers through 24 facilitation centers across its operational regions.

Position Overview: Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director

SSGC is seeking an accomplished, visionary, and dynamic professional to lead the organization as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The MD/CEO will be the key executive responsible for:

  • Setting strategic direction

  • Ensuring operational excellence and financial sustainability

  • Overseeing the Company’s transformation and growth initiatives

  • Enhancing public image and stakeholder trust

  • Implementing reforms under the guidance of the Board of Directors

This role demands a strong, agile leader with strategic foresight, operational expertise, stakeholder management capability, and a deep understanding of the domestic and global energy landscape. The MD will act as a custodian of corporate values and accountability, directly reporting to the Board for the implementation of strategy and achievement of performance objectives.

Eligibility Criteria: Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

  • Graduate degree in one of the following disciplines from an HEC-recognized institution:

    • Engineering

    • Economics

    • Energy Management

    • Engineering Management

    • Finance

    • Accountancy

    • Business Administration

    • Law

  • Postgraduate qualification will be considered an advantage.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years of post-qualification experience in large organizations.

  • At least 5 years of experience at a C-suite level.

  • Demonstrated strategic leadership capabilities and operational management skills.

  • Background in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
