Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC)

The Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited is a Self-Regulatory Organization and the only securities depository company in Pakistan, operating under the license from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Recognized as the infrastructure backbone of the capital market, CDC's functions include Investor Account Services, Trustee & Custodial Services, Share Registrar Services (via its wholly owned subsidiary "CDC Share Registrar"), and Business Process Outsourcing (through another wholly owned subsidiary, "IT Minds").

Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

CDC is seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its management team and collaborate with the Board of Directors in executing strategic growth initiatives central to the company’s medium to long-term business plan. The ideal candidate must have proven leadership abilities in guiding medium to large-scale organizations and managing relationships with key stakeholders such as PSX, SECP, SBP, institutional and retail investors, fund managers, and corporates.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants or hold a postgraduate degree in finance, accountancy, business management, commerce, economics, capital markets, financial services, or related disciplines from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university, or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of seven years in a senior management position within the Central Depository or five years in a senior role, preferably as a CEO, in another company of substantial size within the regulated financial services sector.
  • Proven capacity to successfully manage the responsibilities associated with the position.

Fit and Proper Criteria:

  • The candidate must meet the standards set out in the Central Depositories (Licensing and Operations) Regulations, 2016.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Expertise in financial management and project management tools & techniques.
  • Deep understanding of the capital market ecosystem, laws/regulations (including Company Law), and emerging financial technologies such as information security.
  • Familiarity with Reg-Tech is an advantage.
  • Proven track record in implementing complex ERPs and products related to Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Experience in brand building and developing go-to-market strategies.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment while inspiring high-performance teams.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex policy issues, especially concerning Capital Market Laws.
  • Knowledge of regional capital markets and their depository companies.
