CAREER OPPORTUNITY: CEO, Brooke Pakistan

About Brooke: Brooke Pakistan is a public limited company, registered under SECP with registration no. L. 10550, under section 42 of the Companies Act of 2017. Brooke is the world's leading equine welfare organization dedicated to alleviating the suffering of horses, donkeys, and mules working for impoverished communities.

Role Overview: The CEO will possess a deep understanding of designing and delivering strategic, cost-effective programs impacting working equines. Reporting directly to the Chairman of the Board, the CEO will oversee the organization's operations and strategic direction.

Position Title: Chief Executive Officer - Brooke Hospital for Animals, Pakistan

Term: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Salary: As per Brooke Policy, depending on qualifications and experience

Candidate Criteria:

  • Education & Certifications:

    • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Animal Science, International Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences)
    • Relevant certifications

  • Experience:

    • At least 12 years in a senior management role within an international NGO, preferably in animal welfare or a related field
    • Proven experience in managing large teams, budgets, and programs, with project cycle management expertise
    • Experience in the government sector (e.g., Military, Civil Services) is highly desirable
    • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, and resource management

  • Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge of the operational country to identify sustainable development pathways
    • Familiarity with health welfare and equid welfare standards, including Sphere and other humanitarian standards
    • Proficiency in IT programs (Microsoft Office Suite) and social networking platforms
    • Knowledge of Pakistani legal regulations related to animal welfare, including strong risk management practices
    • Passion for animal welfare and commitment to Brooke's mission

  • Skills:

    • Effective leadership to establish strategic direction, budgeted plans, and high-performance work allocation
    • Proven ability to recruit, manage, and develop an efficient team, with strong support and delegation skills
    • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
    • Proficiency in spoken and written English; knowledge of local languages is advantageous

  • Leadership Qualities:

    • Promote global animal welfare standards and ensure accountability through Brooke's worldwide community
    • Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including universities, institutes, legislators, government officials, and civil society organizations
