Our client, a Karachi based company, seeks to appoint an experienced and seasoned professional for the following role:
CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
The role will be responsible to lead the company's commercial function and take it to greater heights in an environment which is both challenging and highly competitive. We are looking for an outstanding individual who is dynamic, understands environmental and technological advancement, focused, hands on, leads from the front, builds team, has strong follow up and is driven by goals. The position will report to the CEO and will work very closely with all other functions laterally.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership for defining the commercial path to the growth and profitability of the company & develop long & short-term strategies and policies for market development and penetration of energy products.
Ensure achievement of all sales targets.
Manage and maintain effective performance through setting up clear cut KPIs.
Work laterally with Chiefs to develop a strategic product road map to maintain existing revenue streams and develop new ones.
Ensure intelligent expansion of sales and distribution channels in new and existing markets in a transparent manner and identify opportunities with a focus on B2B and B2C roles.
Monitor the performance of all business units, manage and set the KPIs for individual business heads drilling it down to the lowest level in the team.
Develop strategy and implement initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction at every stage of the customer journey.
Build a commercial team driven by performance and clear cut goals. Develop the team and oversee the management, career progression and trajectory.
Drive new business revenue and manage existing business though developing and maintaining strong
client relationships. Build strong relationships with new, potentially large customers to win new business. Ensure efficient delivery of commercial operations, business development, leasing & sponsorship activities
in order to identify new commercial opportunities to improve customer and stakeholder retention.
Maintain and grow key vendor partner relationships and develop relationships with new vendor partners.
Education, Skills & Experience:
Minimum 16 years of education, preferably Master's from a renowned and HEC recognized university or
institution/equivalent foreign degree holder institution, in any or combination of the disciplines of
Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration qualification.
Preferably 18 years of professional experience, in a large national/multinational organization with at least 7 years of related functional experience in a similar role at a senior equivalent position or one position below.
A strong commercial background involving marketing, direct sales, sales and channel management, contract negotiation (experience of licensing would be an added advantage), development of pricing strategies, key account management.
Proven track record of demonstrated capability to lead and oversee end-to-end commercial function's
leadership.
Excellent leadership, team building, analytical, strategic thinking, decision making, communication & inter-personal skills & out-of-box orientation.
Strategic thinking with ability to identify emerging issues, analyse potential impacts and translate ideas
and insights into viable recommendations for action.
Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without
sacrificing accuracy or efficiency.
Professional presence and ability to develop strong working relationships.
Candidates having experience in the energy sector and managing ancillary businesses such as non-fuel
retail and convenience stores will be preferred.
