Departmental Chairpersons Required in Medicine & Anesthesia Departments

Applications are invited for the position of Departmental Chairperson

Ayub Medical College & Ayub Teaching Hospital, Medical Teaching Institution (MTI), Abbottabad, is seeking applications for the position of Departmental Chairperson in the following departments:

  • Medicine
  • Anesthesia

Required Qualifications:

  • MBBS degree along with requisite postgraduate qualifications and experience in the relevant specialty.
  • Must meet the criteria set by PM&DC and MTI Abbottabad Regulations.

Responsibilities:

The appointed Departmental Chairperson will be responsible for:

  • Administration of the respective department.
  • Acting as a member of the Academic Council.
  • Developing curricula as per PM&DC and KMU Peshawar guidelines.
  • Facilitating research for faculty and students.
  • Engaging in patient care and clinical services.
  • Enhancing the standard of clinical teaching and Institution-Based Private Practice (IBPP).

Terms & Conditions:

  1. The selected Chairperson will serve a three (03) year term, renewable for two additional terms (3 years each) at the discretion of the competent authority.
  2. Appointment will be made as per MTI Regulations & Rules approved by the competent authority. The appointee will be offered an equivalent faculty position based on their previous post.
  3. Institution-Based Private Practice (IBPP) within Ayub Teaching Hospital premises is mandatory as per institutional policy and MTI Rules. Private practice outside the hospital is strictly prohibited.
  4. An affidavit certifying compliance with condition (No. 3) must be submitted by all applicants.
  5. Candidates from Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous, or Semi-Autonomous Bodies must apply through the proper channel with an NOC. Candidates from Private Medical Colleges must also submit an NOC from their institution.
  6. An Experience Certificate from PM&DC or previous institution must be attached.
  7. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
  8. Maximum age limit: 65 years.
  9. Domicile: Open to candidates from all over Pakistan.

    • Candidates must submit a prescribed Application Form along with attested copies of relevant documents.
    • Applications should be sent to the Office of the Dean & CEO on or before 15th February 2025 (by the close of office hours).
