Medical Teaching Institution Bannu: Vacancy Announcement

Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Bannu invites applications from Pakistani nationals to fill the following positions under the MTI Reforms Act 2015 (amended over time).

1. Position: Dean

• Gender: Male/Female
• Minimum Qualification and Experience:
  • Ph.D. degree or an equivalent medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Higher diploma such as FCPS, FRCP, FRCS, or a US Board certification (or equivalent).
  • Preference will be given to candidates with additional qualifications in Medical Education.
  • At least 7 years of administrative experience as the head of a department, unit, program, or institution.
  • Leadership experience, a track record in teaching, and a commitment to medical education and research.

Term of Service:
Five years, subject to performance as determined by the Board of Governors (BOG).

Main Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the BOG MTI Bannu.
• Leading undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching and research.
• Overseeing faculty recruitment and development.
• Handling administrative and financial matters of the medical college.
• Acting as the Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Teaching Institution.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the BOG.

2. Position: Hospital Director

• Gender: Male/Female
• Minimum Qualification and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in Hospital Management, Business Management, Public Health, Public Administration, or any relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Medical professionals with a recognized medical degree and an additional management degree are encouraged to apply.
  • At least five years of experience at the management level in a reputed healthcare institution.

Term of Service:
Five years, subject to performance as determined by the BOG.

Main Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the BOG MTI Bannu.
• Responsible for all non-clinical functions of the hospital.
• Preparation of the annual budget and business plan.
• Maintenance of hospital buildings and engineering services.
• Managing ancillary services such as pharmacy, nursing, material management, HR, IT, and security.
• Serving as the principal accounting officer for financial discipline and transparency.
• Implementing board policies to achieve set targets.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the BOG.

3. Position: Medical Director

• Gender: Male/Female
• Minimum Qualification and Experience:
  • Must hold a recognized medical degree with post-qualification in clinical sciences (Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, etc.).
  • At least five years of experience in leading a major clinical unit in a health institution.

Term of Service:
Five years, subject to performance as determined by the BOG.

Main Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the BOG MTI Bannu.
• Ensuring clinical excellence in all hospital functions.
• Managing patient care and clinical governance for quality control.
• Auditing existing clinical programs and developing new ones.
• Developing the annual clinical budget, including capital medical equipment requests.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the BOG.
