All Punjab Board’s Matric Date Sheet
Recently in a significant announcement, the Chairman of the Punjab Board Committee PBCC announced the tentative 10th class exams date sheet 2024 for all educational boards of Punjab. And according to this SSC annual date sheet, board exams are starting from 1st of March 2024. All Punjab boards will conduct these exams simultaneously and will be conducted in morning and evening sessions. What’s new here is that there are certain subjects in this date sheet, in front of them ‘New Course’ mentioned means the annual board exams of these subjects will be constructed on new syllabus. Also there is an addition of a subject related to Quran.
New Subject for Matric Students
The new subject for part 1 and part 2 matric students is ‘Tarjuma Tul Quran’ or ‘Translation of Holy Quran’. It was introduced previous year as a compulsory subject for both 9th and 10th class Muslim students. This subject Tarjuma Tul Quran for 9th and 10th class students serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it aims to foster a deeper understanding of the Quran among young Muslims, allowing them to directly access its teachings and engage with its message beyond traditional recitation. This can help develop spiritual connection and strengthen their religious identity.
Secondly, learning the translation equips students with critical thinking skills, encouraging them to analyze and understand the Quran's verses in their own language. The total marks of this subject in matric is 100, 50 for part 1 exams and 50 for part 2 exams. Students will be first time attempting ‘Tarjuma Tul Quran’ subject exam in this year’s matric board exams.
New Syllabus of Matric Subjects 2024
There have also been some changes in the syllabus of a few subjects for the matric students and this year's exams of those subjects will be based on a new syllabus. These syllabus were announced the previous year and it was also announced that for 2024 matric exams students should prepare with the new syllabus of these subjects. The names of the subjects whose syllabus were changed are:
- Islamiyat (for both parts)
- Civics (for both parts), only for non-Muslim students.
The changes were made in both subject’s syllabus by adding new chapters and removing the unnecessary material. Students will be giving this year’s matric board exams according to this new syllabus.
