Lahore: The water automated teller machines (ATMs) will be utilized to disperse clean water across the province (Punjab).
At first, this project was started a few years ago as a final year project by the aspirants of Information Technology University (ITU).
At this time, Information Technology University (ITU) has team up along with the University of Colorado to bring this proposal to life.

These water Automated Teller Machines would be installed across Punjab, particularly at the areas where clean drinking water is not accessible conveniently.
The inhabitants of these regions will be given a card and water quota for every month to get access to the clean water.
These water ATMs machine will just like a normal machine which is utilized to withdraw money, however in this case, water will be extracted.
This machine has particularly been designed keeping the uneducated population in mind so that they can use this machine without any difficulty.
This water ATM project is expected to cost approximately $374,500.

The water supply unit would be connected to the main server to keep a check on the water levels at the dispenser unit.
It will also permit the government to get an understanding of water usage trends in various regions.
The professionals say that Pakistan is turning into a water-scarce state. It is the need of the hour to recognize the resources for water conservation.
