Lahore, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, Faculty of Animal Production and Technology has started Nestle Need Cum Merit Based Scholarship for DVM and B.S. (Hons) Dairy Technology.
Applications are invited on plain paper accompanied by supporting documents fromthe Needy / Deserving undergraduate students of B.S. (Hons.) Dairy Technology and DVM only for the award of Nestle need cum merit based scholarships.
Candidates are eligible if they have obtained 60 % in their previous semesters. Students are required to present the copies of recent utilities bills (Electricity, Water, GAS) at the time of Interview. Income certificate of parents from employer, in case of self-employed, certificate from Nazim/ Councilor of area concerned be provided at the time of Interview. Applications must be recommended/ forwarded by the concerned Tutor or Class In charge.
All eligible students are directed to submit their applications complete in all respect in the office of Dean Faculty of Animal and Production Technology up to June 17, 2013 during office hours.
The successful candidates have to submit a confirmation letter that they are not getting any other scholarship/fund from any other source or donor.
University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) has got grant of Rs 400 million. The grant has been allocated for 43 research programs for the year 2012-13.
UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Mehmood Pasha stated that 26 projects are international and 16 are national among the 43 projects. Recently an Assistant Professor at UVAS, Dr Muhammad Imran Rashid has also got Rs 10.925 million grant from “Grand Challenges Canada” for research project. The research project was on the topic “Development of toxoplasma multi-protein sub-unit vaccine and their experiment trials in mouse model administered internationally with triad of antigens formulated in nanoparticles”.
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, was established in 1882 which is an oldest institution and got the status of well-known centers of teaching in Veterinary Education in Asia.
