Islamabad, Around 200 Pakistani brilliant and hardworking students will get fully funded scholarships under the Fulbright Program in Pakistan and applicants can send applications for program 2014 to pursue higher studies at various educational institutions of the United States.
The scholarship program is basically for the deserving Pakistani students and covers tuition, textbooks, airfare, a stipend, and health insurance to complete their Master’s or Ph.D under this Fulbright Scholarships program.
US Embassy Public Affairs Officer Kathryn Schalow said that Pakistan has the biggest and oldest Fulbright program in the world.
The agreement to start this program was signed on September 23, 1950 and the first Pakistanis and Americans went to their desiring country the same year and it was one of the very first agreements of its kind and has been widen to 155 countries around the world until now.
Executive Director US Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) Rita Akhtar said USEFP managed the Fulbright Program. Rita Akhtar repeated Ms. Schalow’s views and urged the students from all over Pakistan to take advantage of the Fulbright Program in 2014.
The Fulbright Program is among many US government funded educational, professional, and cultural exchange programs that is beneficial for both Americans and Pakistanis.
The selection of scholars is made through an independent, transparent merit system and women, minorities, people with disabilities, and students from FATA, Balochistan, and all of Pakistan’s provinces all are strongly encouraged to apply.

There is no age limit to apply for the Fulbright Scholarship Program and everyone from Pakistan especially the students of various colleges can apply as and they will get scholarships on merit basis.
