Quetta: The UNICEF has started a motivated programme in Balochistan under which it will coach 3,000 teachers as well as maintain more than 1,000 public sector schools in 11 districts of the province.
The coordinator of the Balochistan Basic Education Programme (BBEP), Naqeebullah Khan said the UN agency had joined hands along with the government of the province to cover many far-flung regions.

He explained that UNICEF will utilize real-time school monitoring to enhance the educational system of the province.
“The programme is targeted at reaching the grass-roots level,” he added.
The provincial coordinator said that under the initiative, 100 education management information system units will be established for better planning as well as for more rational distribution of resources among the institutes.

“The system will also assist in improving the decision-making process in schools. It will integrate the aspirants along with their selected representatives and the civil society.”
Khan further added that the shareholders will actively play their roles in the creativity.
“Local education councils, district education groups, school managements as well as the children clubs would be refurbished as part of the programme,” he said.

“There has been an increase in student enrolment across the province and also an improvement in the general standard of education.”
