UK varsity announces scholarships for Pakistani students

University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK has announced scholarships for foreign postgraduate students.
 
Candidates desiring to get admission in the university must have first class Honours degree from a recognized Pakistan University. Since this scholarship is offered on the basis of financial need, candidates with multiple degrees will not be considered.
 
Candidates must be in their home country at the time of application; candidates should have relevant work experience and have not previously studied in the UK. After completion of their studies candidate must return to Pakistan and serve there for five years. The award is made for one year only and is not renewable. Priority to subjects in the areas of engineering, computing and business management or any other subject which the partners deem acceptable or which cannot be pursued adequately in Pakistan.

The University of Strathclyde is awarding scholarships to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Foundation of the State of from funds donated by the late Mr Yaqub Ali through the Scottish Pakistani Association to the University of Strathclyde Foundation. The main purpose of the Fund is to provide an opportunity for well qualified but needy Pakistan nationals to get a one-year degree in MSc in the UK.

Punjab University, Department of Mathematics has started admissions in Professional Short Courses i.e. MS Office, Graphics Design, Web Development.

Minimum qualification required for serial no. 1 is matriculation or equivalent while for others FA/FSc or equivalent.  Those who are likely to qualify the intermediate examinations are also eligible.

Last date for submission of application form is Jan 31, 2013. Application forms are available from the Department of Mathematics.

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is going to start Spring Semester Admissions 2013 from Matric to MA/MSc level programs. The admissions would open in various disciplines from Monday Jan 21, 2013.

Candidates can submit admission forms and prescribed fee in nominated branches of banks.

Director Admissions said that admissions for MSc will be opened in Mass Communication, Mathematics, Sociology, Forestry Extension, Statistics, Chemistry and Physics and four years BS programs in Microbiology and Chemistry.
