Today terrorists attacked Bacha Khan University in Charsadda

According to the sources, three armed attackers entered the Bacha Khan University, Saddar campus and opened the fire. Soldiers of Pakistan Army entered in the building of the University to clear it from the attackers. Almost five injured including two University’s guards have been shifted to the hospital for their medical treatment. As per the sources, large number of students has also been present inside the University Campus.

Almost 25 people have been martyred and more than 60 injured as the unknown gunmen raged inside the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda. As per the sources, firing followed the blasts, along with the eyewitnesses saying that 5 blasts were heard inside the University. Soldiers of Pakistan Armyhave started the rescue operation.

A security official told that the death toll can rise to more than 40 as the army has cleared out student hostels as well as classrooms. Another representative for the rescue workers said that the dead include students, guards, policemen and one professor.

A chemistry teacher died during fighting along with the terrorists. A student said that "the teacher had a gun along with him. He was trying to protect the aspirants and he got martyred with the firing of terrorists”.

As per ISPR, Army troops have cordoned the area along with the gunmen contained inside the two university blocks. Air investigation is being done by the officers.

Approximately fifty aspirants have been rescued from the premises of the University. The injured have been transferred to District Headquarters Hospital, whereas the emergency has been imposed in all the hospitals of Charsadda.

According to the policemen, it was quite difficult to identify the terrorists because of the fog. Police also certified that one police officer as well as numerous aspirants was injured in the exchange of fire. Another report shows that the aspirants as well as management officials were beleaguered due to the attack. The shots can be heard from within the university. Almost three thousand students are registered in the University.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also condemned the Bacha Khan University's attack.

An eyewitness of the incident says that that a group of 5 armed men entered the university after firing some rounds. They entered the University at almost 9:00 am and get the advantage of the cover of morning fog. As per the given details, a Mushahira was to be organized in the co-educational university for the aspirants when the armed militants entered the campus in groups and opened the fire.

The Security forces had entered the premises of the university and were involved in a gun battle along with the attackers. The Vice Chancellor of Bacha Khan University is Dr Fazal-ur-Raheem Marwat and the university was founded in year 2012.

The exchange of the fire between the terrorists and the Pak armed forces was taking place inside the university. According to few sources, the security forces have been put on high alert. We also come to know that there were a large number of people inside the university when the attackers attacked the university whereas some people were able to escape the attack.
