The Gandhara Hindko Academy Launched an App of the Hindko language proverbs

The android app of the Hindiko Language proverbs is developed by Muhammad Adil, who is Information Technology Consultant and assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science of Iqra National University. Muhammad Adil was assisted by his fellow lecturer Umar Rauf and two students of Iqra University.

This App was launched in an event at the Sain Ahmad Ali Auditorium of the Gandhara Hindko Academy Peshawar. The launching ceremony was attended by Board Vice-Chairman Dr Salahuddin, Radio Pakistan Peshawar Deputy Controller Syeda Effat Jabbar, social figure Syed Tahir Abbas, author Iqbal Sikander, famous writer and author Ahmed Saleem and Muhammad Ziauddin (general secretary of the Gandhara Hindko Acadmey ).

Bookwright Muhammad Saleem was chief guest and author Iqbal Sikander was guest of honor of the ceremony. The app is named “HIndko Matlaan” and it has 2,200 Hinko language proverbs installed. This android app is available for free install in Google play store.

Muhammad Adil, is physically challenged but not by mental faculties. He has done MS in Telecommunication and Networking and currently completing his PhD. The Gandhara Hindko Academy had already published a book with the same name “Hindko Matlaan” having 852-page under lead of Muhammad Ziauddin(general secretary Hindko Board) and four other authors Aftab Iqbal Bano, SaqibHussain, Ali AwaisKhayal and Sikandar Hayat Sikandar.

The chief guest of the event, renowned author Ahmed Saleem appreciated this great endeavor of promoting native languages of Pakistan by Iqra University, He commented ““All the Pakistani languages are important and command respect.”

HIndko Language:

Hindko is native language of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar Plateau and Azad Kashmir regions of Pakistan. The Hindko language group include Hinki(spoken in India as well), Panjistani and Pahari(spoken in Himalayas and Nepal). It’s originated from northwestern Indo-Aryan speech forms.The Hindko language proper dialect is practiced in Kohat, Attock District, Pindi Gheb Tehsil, and Peshawar District and in various villages of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Iqra University:

Apart from linguistics, Iqra University is offering BS, MS and PhD degrees on numerous courses. The University receives a large number of admissions every year. Iqra University has been ranked number 10 in 2012 and number 1 in 2015 in terms of business studies by HEC.

Iqra University business department is regarded as its best department as per the latest figures presented by ISI Thompsons , the university has submitted most number of research papers as compare to other business schools of Pakistan.

It is a private University, initially started under name of Asian Management Institute (AMI) in 1998 and later in 2002 it gained status of university by HEC and was named Iqra University. It has 7 campuses in Karachi, and one campus in Islamabad’s Khayaban-e-Johar, Sector H-9.The faculty of Iqra University is consisted of mostly PhD degree holders.

It was founded by Pakistani business man Hunaid H. Lakhani. Ire University has engineering, film study, business, management sciences, natural sciences and administration departments which are offering BS, MS and doctorate programmers.
