Rawalpindi: Punjab Education Department has announced to outsource approximately 10,000 public sector schools located across the province, including the schools of Rawalpindi Division to private sector.
A decision has been taken, after which the education department of Punjab made a formal announcement to handover the control of primary, middle as well as high secondary schools to the private sector.

The secretary Education Punjab has asked for the list of all the schools, which should be outsourced at this level and process would be completed during the current summer holidays.
In this regard, different teacher unions have also decided to stage protests against this step of Punjab education department.
Teacher’s Union leaders Rana Liaquat, Shafiq Bholia, Shahid Mubarak, Chaudhry Yaseen have said that the outsourcing of government sector schools will destroy the education system of the country.

They are of the view that the academic system of Pakistan will be destroyed further and enrollment target set by the government for the public sector schools will not be achieved because of the ill-conceived policies of present government PML (N).
