The Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas has announced that the schools across the province will be reopened from tomorrow 7th January 2022. The announcement has been made on the official Twitter account of the minister. Murad Raas has welcomed the students back to the school. Moreover, he has instructed the school authorities to ensure the implementation of SOPs in all the schools and also urged the students to follow the preventative measures to contain the spread of the pandemic.
Winter Vacations in Punjab
Earlier the Punjab government had announced the winter vacations for the educational institutes across the province. According to the announcement the schools have been closed from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022. Furthermore, the specific dates had been announced for the various districts of the province by considering the high levels of smog. It is notified that as per the notification issued by the School Education Department, all public and private educational institutions in Gujrat, Hafizabad, Multan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Sheikhupura, Okara, Vehari, Khanewal, Lahore, Khushab, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Nankana Sahib will remain closed from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022 however the educational institutes in the other districts will observe the winter vacations from 3rd January 2022 to 13th January 2022.
Winter Vacations In Other Provinces
The government of Sindh, Balochistan, and KP had also earlier announced the schedule of the winter vacations. The decision regarding the winter vacations was taken in the meeting of the National Command and Operation Center that was held in December. However, it had been said that the provincial governments will devise their schedule for the vacations by considering the situation. Each province had issued its schedule by considering the weather conditions and the situation of the pandemic.
