ISLAMABAD: The aspirants of Quaid-e-Azam University started protesting on Tuesday against administration that expelled the three students from its hostels on beating a member of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba. The protest of the university’s students on that day led to its early closing.

3 members of the Pashtun Council, a group of Pashtun aspirants, ostensibly beat IJT member Faiz Rabbani on 24th February 2016 over “his vigilantism”.

Protesters said Rabbani as well as the other IJT members would order female students to cover up and warn the aspirants against male and female gatherings.

Rabbani’s complaint to the management of varsity named Mirwaiz, Adil and Zaraq Khan. After that the application was handed to Dean Dr Anwar Shah, who formed a committee consist of him and two professors of university, which suggest the disciplinary panel of institute take action against the students. Each student was fined Rs30, 000 and expelled from the hostel.


The deadlock continues between protesting students and the management of the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU).


Classes were suspended for a second consecutive day as the aspirants blocked the gates of the bus terminal, so stopping buses from picking up students from different zones of region.


The protesting students said their walkouts will continue till their demands are met.


According to them, the management of university is supporting a particular group, which is intolerable by students.

Dr Waseem Ahmed of the Biochemistry department, who has been holding discussions along with aspirants, told: “the discussions are underway along with protesters, we are confident that the issue will be resolved harmoniously.”
