The Punjab government has issued the revised schedule for winter vacations in Schools. According to the notification issued by the School Education Department, all public and private educational institutions in Gujrat, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Okara, Vehari, Khanewal, Sialkot, Nankana Sahib and Jhang Lahore, Khushab, Hafizabad, Multan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, will observe winter holidays from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022. The decision has been taken by considering the high levels of smog in the various districts of Punjab.
Revised Schedule For Winter Vacations
The schools in the various areas such as Jhelum, Muzaffargarh, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mianwali, Attock, Rawalpindi, Rajanpur, Layyah, and Chiniot will remain closed from 3rd January 2022 to 13th January 2022 as the smog level in these areas is lower as compared to others. The government of Punjab has also announced the schedule of winter vacations for public and private universities as they will observe the winter vacations from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022. As per the notification issued all the universities have to follow the schedule provided by the Higher Education Department Punjab. The authorities have to ensure a 100% vaccination rate and no student, teaching staff and non-teaching staff should be unvaccinated. The students, as well as teachers, will not be allowed to enter their concerned institutions without vaccination.
Winter Vacations In Provinces
In Punjab, according to the announcement made by the Minister for Education Punjab Murad Raas, the winter vacations will be observed from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022. The minister has also instructed students to get the vaccination and follow the standard operating procedures. However, in the NCOC meeting, it had been decided that the winter vacations will start from 3rd January 2022 although it had been said that the provincial government will provide the schedule for the educational institutes of their provinces. The Lahore High Court had also directed the government earlier to close the educational institutes from 20th December 2021 due to smog.
