Rawalpindi: The Punjab Education Department has decided to handover approximately 1000 public sector schools located crosswise the province, containing the Rawalpindi Division, to the private sector.

In this regard, a decision has already been taken. Now the Punjab education department will make an official announcement to handover the primary, middle as well as the high schools to the private school sector.
The Punjab Education secretary has asked for the list of all the schools, which should be outsourced at this point.
This procedure would be completed during the continuing summer vacations.

Different teachers unions have decided to stage protests against this step of the education department. Teachers' Union leaders Rana Liaquat, Shafiq Bholia, Shahid Mubarak, Chaudhry Yaseen have called this outsourcing of government sector schools a move to weaken the education system of the country.
According to the leaders of teachers union the academic system will be destroyed and the enrollment target set by the management for the government sector schools will not be accomplished just because of these ill-conceived policies of the government.
