Lahore: The government of Punjab is planning to provide free transport to the schoolchildren and at the same time the officials concerned have been asked to prepare a complete proposal in this respect.
The command came in a meeting presided over by the chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday.

The meeting reviewed different programmes for the promotion of education and also the education relevant issues pertaining to Cholistan area in Bahawalpur division.
In this meeting the ‘meals programme’ for the schoolchildren and the provision of schoolbags to the school goings has also been approved across the province.
Shabaz Sharif wished that the schoolchildren from distant and remote areas will benefit most from the Khadim-i-Punjab School Sawari Programme and this step will definitely assist in the promotion of education.

He said a mega project of the programme will be started from six chosen districts, which would be made public afterwards.
The chief minister also sought a programme for introducing the technical education in schools from class 8th to class 10th.
He called the mobile schooling an exceptional step and sought increase in number of these schools in Cholistan.
