Lahore, Punjab University, Examination Department has notified that the B.A/B.Sc., Annual Examination, 2013 will commence with effect from April 04, 2013.
Punjab University College of Art and Design in collaboration with the Lahore Museum organized an exhibition of paintings on the topic “Landscapes, Cityscapes and related Conceptual Paintings” at The Contemporary Painting Gallery of the Lahore Museum.
This exhibition is planned to honour teachers and graduates of the College of Art and Design, University of the Punjab for their vital role in making the modern Pakistani Landscape Painting tradition. This exhibition has a historic value, as it presents a sequential and historical journey of the Landscape Painting in Pakistan starting from 1947 to date.
This collection of painting is the first and biggest ever collection of this genre, displayed under one roof. The work Ustad Alla Bakhsh, Muhammad Hussain Hanjra, Khalid Iqbal, Zulqarnain Haider, Mughees Riaz, Kaleem Khan, Ghulam Rasul, Shahid Jalal, Mian Ejaz ul Hasan, Anna Molka Ahmad, Naseem Hafeez Qazi, Ghulam Mustafa, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, Dr. Ajaz Anwar, Abd al-Rehman Chughtai, Moyene Najmi, Musarrat Mirza, Zubeda Javed, Khalid Mahmud, Musarrat Hassan, Iqbal Hussain, Rahat Naveed Masud, Kehkashan Jafri, Maliha Azami Aga, Quddus Mirza, Durre Waseem, Naela Amir, Munawar Mohiudin, Amjad Naeem, Mirza Matloob Baig, Iqbal Khokhar, Muhammad Arshad and Anila Zulfiqar has been displayed.
This exhibition has been organized on the creativity of Prof Dr. Rahat Naveed Masud and Dr. Barabara Schmitz and a book entitled “Landscapes, Cityscapes and other Conceptual Paintings," comprising 74 high-quality images of paintings, and 33 research based detailed articles about all the artists and their work, has also been launched at the occasion.
The exhibition will remain open till December 31 and visiting or documenting this show is itself an honour and joy.
Meanwhile, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has expressed his grief over the departure of eminent politician and Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Prof Ghafoor. The VC said that the country had missed visionary leader. He prayed that Almighty Allah may grant courage to the members of grieving family to bear this irrevocable loss and the departed soul may rest in peace.
