Islamabad, Students of Preston University got first position in both `Business Launch Competition’ and `Elevator Pitch Competition’ organized as title of `BIZFEST 2013’.
The contests were held by the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) Topi, from January 25 to 27. The Preston University teams were managed by Prof. Khalid Javaid Anwer and team members were Nabila Iqbal (team leader), Madiha Zar and Atobatele Abiola Moshood.
The universities took part in the `Business Launch Competition’ category of BIZFEST 2013 were Preston University, Islamabad, G.C. University, Lahore, Beacon House School System (liberty campus), Lahore, Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, ICAS Lahore, UOL Business School, Lahore, and Preston University Kohat.
Preston University, Islamabad beat won the first position in this category of the competition by defeating all other universities. G.C. University, Lahore got the second Position while third position went to Beacon House.
In `Elevator Pitch Competition’ category of BIZFEST 2013 the Preston University, Islamabad, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), Topi, G.C. University, Lahore, UET Lahore, and Preston University, Kohat participated.
The team of Preston University, Islamabad was nominated as best team in this category and was given first position. While the GIKI, the host institution got second position in the Elevator Pitch Competition.
Preston University also got the overall best performance trophy of BIZFEST 2013 competition.
The Preston University team also got a cash prize of Rs30,000 for giving the best business idea `Capital World - A Cultural Theme Park’, in Business Launch Competition.
The Chancellor of Preston University, Dr. Abdul Basit praised the efforts of students and Professor Khalid Javaid Anwer, who commanded the teams of Preston University in these contests and got exceptional achievement of Preston students in BIZFEST 2013 organized at GIKI, Topi. He also congratulated the students Nabila Iqbal, Madiha Zar and Atobatele Abiola Moshood who won these victories and honors for the university.
