Police arrest transgender for allegedly killing youth in Karachi

Karachi: On Saturday, police has arrested a transgender for her suspected involvement in the murder of a young man.

The police officials informed that the transgender Shahzad along with her partner, Taha, killed Rashid and threw his body near Jheel Park.

The law enforcement authorities were able to identify as well as to trace Shahzad from a CCTV video; but, Taha is not arrested yet.

Police have already started conducting raids to arrest Taha.

Moreover, the police informed that the transgender used a Facebook account to develop friedship along with men and then blackmail them, however as Rashid threatened to expose Shahzad, he was killed by the transgender and his body was thrown near Jheel Park.

According to the DSP Jamhed Town Farhat Kamal, “the people used to befriend her on Facebook considering her to be a girl, however when they used to reach her flat to meet her, the transgender Shahzad used to blackmail them via snaps and loot them.”

Shahzad claimed that she killed Rashid in self-protection.

While talking to a private news channel, Shahzad said that: “Rashid was pocketing my mobile and when I stopped him, he started beating me, during the fight he died. I did not kill him with intention.”
