Peshawar: Almost 80 laptops were distributed among PhD scholars under the phase 2 of PM Laptop Scheme on Wednesday. For this purpose, a ceremony was organized at University of Engineering Technology, Peshawar. Vice Chancellor of university Prof Iftikhar Hussain was the chief guest on the ceremony.
Dr Khizar Azam, the registrar of university, Mr Shafiullah, Assistant Director Higher Education Commission as well as others was also present in the ceremony. On the event, Prof Hussain said that the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme had been carried out smoothly as well as transparently at UET Peshawar.
He advised the scholars of PhD to make best use of the laptops for research purpose in order to successfully complete their PhDs.

He furthermore said that it was a great step by the federal government to provide high quality laptops to the research scholars.
Engr Naveed Ahmad, Director Clubs, UET, said 26 main personalities were tasked with identifying as well as verifying the deserving PhD scholars to make the process crystal clear for the laptop distribution. He also mentioned that the focal persons were given payment for the first time.
