Total number of payee students of the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) will increase to 2.3 million at the end of this year as a result of the underway yearly increase in free educational programs.
Yesterday, in a meeting, the Managing Director of PEF Tariq Mahmood told the committee members of programme regarding development plans in partnership along with partners of private schools.
The meeting was presided by convenor Dr Amjad Saqib who reviewed various agenda-items comprising of the expansion of programs and their estimated budget for next financial year and effective use of schemes based on the public private partnership.
He gave the detailed presentation about the role of PEF and also its contribution in offering the free schooling facility to the deserving students exactly at their doorsteps. He also said that foundation is best in attaining the various educational targets. While addressing, he also said that over hundred monitoring and estimation assistants have been employed to maintain effective monitoring mechanism of partner schools in localities.
He also said that "An inclusive education has been introduced for the needy children in seven selected districts including Lahore. These students are studying side by side the able students".
