PEF providing free schooling facilities to children with minor disabilities

Lahore: Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has provided free schooling facilities to the students with minor disabilities in seven selected regions under the Punjab Inclusive Education Project (PIEP).

For this reason, partnership has been made along with 194 private educational institutes so that the needy children can easily make it to their schools for studies.

This innovative project is launched in association along with the Special Education Department. Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation Tariq Mahmood has given this statement while heading the meeting at his office on Wednesday to review the pace of progress on PIEP.

Representatives of Special Education Department, along with different PEF officials, were also present there. The meeting reviewed the pace of progress of the project and said that this step is very important for reeducating the children along with minor disabilities.

Managing Director of Punjab Education Foundation admired the support extended by the Special Education Department who will also provide helping gadgets to the aspirants to help continue their studies.

Furthermore, the meeting was also told that 194 PIEP partnering schools are located in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Vehari, Multan, Attock, Jhelum as well as in Chakwal districts. These schools are provided along with the funds to develop their groundwork for facilitating the physically challenged students.

Punjab Education foundation has arranged the capacity building training for teachers so that they could best handle and educate these students.

Moreover, Tariq Mahmood said that people should make aware to send their special children to nearby schools so that they can be rehabilitated through education; whereas the helpful school-atmosphere will infuse self-confidence in them.
