For the very first time in the history of Pakistan, a Pakistani university has granted an MPhil degree in Hindi.
Military-run National University of Modern Languages (NUML) has become the first Pakistani university to grant a Hindi degree. A student from NUML University Shahin Zafar is the first student from a Pakistani university to receive an MPhil degree in Hindi.
Her thesis, titled as ‘Swatantryottra Hindi Upanyason Mein NasriChittran (1947-2000)’ was overseen by Prof Iftikhar Husain Arif (Professor Emeritus Numl) and authorized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Paksitan.
A representative of NUML University claims that because of the dearth of Hindi experts in Pakistan, the thesis of Shahin Zafar was appraised through two foreign experts from Aligarh Muslim University in India.
