Islamabad: In spite of the passage of several months, the plagiarized PhD degree of the vice chancellor of Federal Urdu University of Arts Science and Technology (FUUAST), Sulaiman D Mohammad has not been cancelled yet, private news channel reported.
As per the given information, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) had investigated the allegations that Sulaiman D Mohammad had plagiarized his PhD thesis.

After investigation, commission found out that most of the research papers including thesis of Sulaiman D Mohammad were plagiarized.
The higher education commission sources exposed that after investigation, HEC had written to the Karachi University (KU), telling them that plagiarism had been proved 22 publications and also in the thesis of Sulaiman.
Higher education commission suggested the Karachi University to cancel the PhD degree. Sulaiman D Mohammad was awarded a doctoral degree by University of Karachi in 2010 in Economics.

He was promoted from the post of assistant professor to the associate professor and afterwards to the post of professor, which was then followed by his appointment as the dean at the varsity.
Currently, he is serving as the acting Vice Chancellor of Federal Urdu University of Arts Science and Technology (FUUAST).
An official of higher education commission, who was also the part of meeting along with the University in this regard, told the media sources that the commission had insisted on notifying the cancellation of Sulaiman's PhD degree.
"However, they still willfully refuse to do so," he added.
As per the sources, Sulaiman was given to the post of associate professor without any selection board, which is also a violation of rules.
