MoU signed with British Council to improve teaching quality

Peshawar: The Elementary and Secondary Education Department and British Council signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the enhancement of teaching quality as well as practices of all primary school teachers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This agreement was signed by Dr Shahzad Bangash, Secretary Secondary Education Department, and Jim Booth, the country Director of British Council Pakistan here. Under this creativity, the British Council will help the Secondary Education Department in training of approximately 83,000 teachers of KPK primary schools along with the special attention on four subjects: English as medium of instruction, Mathematics, Science as well as General Knowledge.

“The 3-year programme will be executed in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the press release, at the initial stage, Secondary Education Department will provide a list of 1,500 teachers whereas the British Council will conduct assessment and transparent criteria as well to choose 480 teachers as master trainers.”

 Afterwards the chosen master trainers will be tested.
