Lahore: The Lahore High court (LHC) said in favor of a visually impaired person on Friday, who was formerly disallowed to work as an educator by the Punjab Education Department.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah took up the case for hearing and also ordered the secretary education Punjab to hire the candidate with instant effect.
The overseeing judge of this case while hearing said “Special importance is given to the disabled persons throughout the world, but they are ignored in our country.”
Previously, the activist Hafiz Junaid Mehmood said that he had passed the test as well as the interview with the Education Department Punjab for the post of an educator.
Though, after that he had been informed that there was no rule in place to hire disabled persons. He said that it is legitimate obligation of the state to ensure people are not differentiated against on the basis of their infirmities.
Upon this, The Lahore High Court (LHC) had instructed Punjab government to change policy within one month for offering jobs to disabled persons who meet the employment criteria.
