Quetta: Higher Education commission of Pakistan (HEC) will set up two University Colleges in Balochistan, in Zhob and Dera Murad Jamali respectively.
Just now, the Planning Commission has approved the two proposals of higher education commission to set up these colleges in Balochistan.
The University College Zhob will be a main college of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta.

It will offer 4 years degree programmes in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Sciences and Information Technology.
Balochistan Government has allocated a piece of land measuring 100 acres for the College plus the Federal Government will build the structure at a cost of Rs. 1.260 billion.
The second University College would be constructed in Dera Murad Jamali and will be a main college of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, Uthal.
This college will offer Bachelor degree programmes in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Education, Sociology and Computer Sciences in the first phase.

The institute will also offer diploma courses in Livestock and Dairy Development and Food Technology/Food Sciences to the aspirants in the region.
The Balochistan government has identified 500 acres of land at Dera Murad Jamali for the construction of the College whereas Rs. 1.503 billion would be given by higher education commission for infrastructure development.
The College is planned to be a model campus in the zone to deal along with the most demanded technologies as well as research oriented studies.

The higher education commission will provide essential academic facilities at the temporary building to start the classes and for the provision of infrastructure and related facilities at the permanent campus of the college for 800-1000 aspirants together with the common facilities such as library, medical center, sports facilities, cafeteria, etc.
