On Tuesday, the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan has signed an agreement along with Overseas Technology Private Limited to get the services of digital content, subsidized online courses as well as the certification of high ranking well known institutes to the receivers of Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
In this regard, the signing ceremony was organized at the Commission Secretariat.
The chairperson of Prime Minister Youth Programme Leila Khan was the chief guest at the signing ceremony.

Chairperson of Higher Education Commission Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Executive Director Higher Education Commission Dr. Arshad Ali as well as and other senior officers of the two sides were also present there.
While speaking on the event, Ms. Leila Khan appreciated the administrations of both Higher Education Commission as well as Overseas Technology Private Limited for taking steps to provide students along with a chance to get internationally applauded specialization in various disciplines leading towards certifications via online platform.
She further added that the courses will improve the learning abilities of the aspirants in their professional career.
She urged HEC Pakistan and also Overseas Technology to facilitate the aspirants at the time of registration in this programme and during their courses.

While briefing the head Prime Minister Youth Programme regarding the importance of the agreement, Dr. Arshad Ali said that the commission is determined to improve the effective utilization of advanced technology, adding that improvement in the quality of education and access to education cannot be accomplished without the use of technology.
He said that the agreement is a step forward towards making a learning environment for the aspirants.
The laptop receivers of MS and PhD level can sign up and register in 70 specialization and associated courses, firstly offered under the programme.
These students earn a completion certificate upon the successful completion of their particular course.
