Lahore: Higher Education Commission of Pakistan organized a laptop distribution ceremony for the students of Punjab University on Thursday at 11:00 am at PU Faisal Auditorium.
Governor Punjab / Chancellor Punjab University Malik Rafique Rajwana was the chief guest of the ceremony whereas Vice chancellor of Punjab University Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran as well as officials of HEC was also present there.

Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran during his address in the ceremony said that young people were enough lucky to have been born in this age of technology and information.
“The world is accessible just by one click on the internet,” he added.
He also admired the efforts of the government for educational development in the state.
The executive director of Higher Education Commission Dr Arshad Ali said almost 500,000 laptops were to be distributed among the aspirants for showing good academic results during the five-year tenure.

Chief Guest of the ceremony Rafique Rajwana distributed laptops among PhD scholars. Students who had not been given laptops gathered outside the Faisal auditorium and demanded the laptops.
The students from Hailey College of Commerce said that they were not given laptops in spite of fulfilling the set criteria by the government.
